How the class of 2030 is ranked, what the national tournaments actually qualify for, and where teams in this region play. Written by a 14U club that plays the schedule below.
There is no single official table. In practice a 2030 team's standing comes from three things: which national events it qualifies for and how it finishes there, whether its players are nominated to and selected for national rankings such as Extra Inning Softball's, and the level of the tournaments it enters week to week. Because those are judged by outside bodies rather than by the clubs themselves, any club describing itself as the best in the region is telling you something about its marketing rather than its record.
PGF — Premier Girls Fastpitch — runs a qualifier system that feeds a national championship each summer in Southern California. A team earns its place by finishing high enough at a sanctioned qualifier during the season. Getting there repeatedly is the clearest signal a 14U team is playing at a national level, because it has to be earned again every year.
No. Alliance Fastpitch runs its own qualifier series and its own national championship, separate from PGF. Some clubs chase one, some chase both. A player who has been to both has played two different national fields in the same era of her career.
Under NCAA rules, Division I coaches may not contact a class-of-2030 softball recruit until 1 September 2028. Softball is a named exception to the usual 15 June date. Anything before that runs through camps, showcases and the player's own published profile — which is why a 2030 recruiting profile matters two years before a coach may call.
The competitive calendar runs through Lincoln, Modesto, Stockton, Tracy and Elk Grove, with at least one Southern California trip a season for the bigger PGF events. The table on this page is a real 2026–27 schedule with dates and venues, not a generic list.
These are real dates and venues from our own season, published because most club sites do not publish theirs and a family deciding between programmes has nothing concrete to compare. 9 events, roughly one weekend in three from August to January.

Foothill Gold 2030 is a 14U class-of-2030 club out of El Dorado Hills, coached by Warney and Diggle, playing the PGF and Triple Crown circuits. Between them the 14 players on this roster have been to PGF Nationals thirteen times, twice to Alliance Nationals, and to the Triple Crown World Series — sixteen national-tournament appearances, and not one of them has reached ninth grade yet.
No club is in a position to call itself the strongest in the region, so we will not. The roster is at team and every player has a profile a college coach can read, which is a more useful answer than a superlative.
